WHY?
Peak Road Club was formed in the winter
of 2007 by a group of friends who had raced and trained together since
the early 90s...that should help you gauge the demographic of the
club...and who thought it was about time they coordinated properly on
training rides.
Our aims are simple:
-
No sponsors, no free jerseys, no here today and gone tomorrow riders.
-
Enjoy the bike...it's meant to be fun, even when you are getting a kicking.
-
Don't take ourselves too seriously...we've all had too many 2nd places for that.
-
Stop Steve Gibson
from re-designing the kit everytime he buys a new frame (ie. twice a
year) so that it matches his current bike ("This is the one, I don't
think I'll change again!")
-
No beards under any circumstances...sorry Mr Gilham, that's just the way it has to be.
- To unintentionally re-create the Sheffield Polytechnic Velo Club of 1992...oh, done that!
-
To cling onto our youth in the mistaken belief that the next win is just round the corner.
